How I Used AI to Generate Content Ideas and Create a Deck with Gamma

I got the API working in a single shot in fabi, pretty awesome. I pulled content ideas I have stored in a spreadsheet, asked our AI to generate a few content ideas then passed that to the Gamma prompt and it generated a deck for me.

I do have a question about how we envision this being used. These are creating entire decks from scratch, but I'd imagine a lot of folks are looking to update specific slides, and perhaps even specific artifacts within a slide if this is a deck used on a regular basis. but are most Gamma users generating fresh decks from scratch? Is there any documentation or videos on how this is most commonly used or the type of persona that does this that would need it automated? This might help me better understand how to poke the endpoint and also might help me provide more helpful feedback

Hey folks, right now the biggest request we have is around full deck/doc generation. Today, you can generate a full deck from scratch. We're also planning to give people the ability to edit templates via API, so if you have a pitch deck in Gamma you already like, but you want to edit specific cards / content / logos for different customers, we want to give you the ability to do that via the API some time this year. This is the area we're focused on.

We have received request for fine-grained editing via API as well, ie, everything I can edit in a deck in the Gamma app, I want the ability to do via API. This is on our radar, but we're realistically not going to be able to tackle that in the 2025 timelines.

Thanks for the reply Deeni F. In the case of complete deck generation, do you have a sense of the type of workflow or persona that would want that automated? Question behind my question: We can actually create a Gamma cell super easily in Fabi based on this API spec. I need to kick the tires a bit more, but we could literally ship this like tomorrow if we wanted. But our AI generates prompts to pass to Gamma off of data from databases and spreadsheets. So if the use case is more to take a Google Doc for example and generate a prompt off of that then we'd need to add a Google Doc integration.
