really want to be able to send images and logos via api to be used in generations -opens up so many more use cases for me remix or simple edit prompts would be great - a lot of users on my platform may not have their own gamma account and if they don't like the generation the get, they just have to request a whole new version - would love to maybe be able to send send a prompt through api to the ai editor to request changes made this would be especially helpful with studio mode generations were I've had issues with misspelled or jiberish words
Hey Doug A.! Max from the Gamma API support team here. You're spot on that image input during generation isn't available yet. That's actually a product-wide limitation, not just API. Images have to be added afterward, which definitely limits those automation workflows you're thinking about. Remix and editing through the API are definitely on our radar. Sounds like Mariena mentioned this above too. Would be perfect for your use case where users can't jump into Gamma themselves to make tweaks. I'm curious about your platform setup though. Sounds like you're building something where users generate presentations without having their own Gamma accounts? Is this more of a white-label thing or part of a bigger content workflow? The Studio mode gibberish you mentioned caught my attention too. Are you seeing that with specific prompt types or is it random? What's the most common type of change request your users make when they don't like a generation?
yes users generate their own without a gamma account and/or generations are made automatically and sent to their clients or socials. If one of our users has their own gamma account, that obviously unlocks the ability to edit anything they generate, but the automated generations for lead generation or nurturing leads still wouldn't have the opportunity to edit prior to delivery. it's not really a white label.version, more like an overlay that makes it extremely easy to produce generations related to real estate, lending, options in the market and other content for potential clients. It takes property specific information and quotes for services and area/property specific details via other api's (market snapshots, valuations over time, cost for some financial services, points of interest, weekend and monthly events) and creates great presentations or posts for them. we've built most of it out already - building out some of that content and the automation to facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, but haven't turned it loose to our users yet. we've shown it to them and will be going wide soon. the per day generation caps are a but limiting, but we have multiple accounts to help us there and I know those limits are increasing. when enterprise pricing is ready, we are going to encourage all of our partners to provide those to their agents and loan officers, then just keep us as a plug-in to make it exceedingly easy for agents and lenders to produce content/generations with all the data we are collecting from all the sources. on out platform, agents can upload pics of a property, so the ability to select pics to send via.api for a generation would open up so many other use cases - flyers, single property websites (when webpages are available through api), other types of social media post -- then also plans for putting this to.use in new construction subdivisions with large national.builders where on-site sales repa could build out customized sales brochures instantly featuring the floor plans/elevations their leads want - up-to-the minute market info, home selling options, lending programs and incentives, all provided instantly and customized for each. for studio mode, the misspellings or gibberish were just sort of random, not tied to any specific prompt. I didn't get too far into it since I figured it may be more useful for us when that's worked out, but I know it's an issue across a lot of ai image generation. I have not upgraded to ultra yet as I have a few seats in my pro account and I don't want to.uograde all of them to ultra. I need to get a new account for ultra so.i can test it more. especially for social media content, studio may be very useful but like I mentioned above, for our automated postings and updates, even users w/out their own gamma account won't have the opportunity to edit those. I understand ultra provides access to higher end.image models? are some of those less likely to produce text with issues?
Doug, thanks for sharing all this feedback about your real estate platform. Really interesting to see how you're using the API for automated content generation. For the Studio mode text issues you asked about - yes, the newer image models in Ultra generally handle text better. Google's models have improved, but text in AI images is still hit or miss across the industry. Nothing we can guarantee unfortunately. The image upload feature would definitely open up those use cases you mentioned. I'll make sure your feedback about property photos and editing capabilities gets to our product team. Quick heads up: Since we're still in beta, I'd be cautious about building too much around the current API structure. We appreciate your enthusiasm, but there may be significant changes between now and general release. Worth keeping that in mind as you expand your platform. For now, detailed prompts upfront might help reduce those "needs one edit" situations since your automated generations go straight to clients. Appreciate all your feedback here. Let me know if you need help working with any of the current API capabilities. Always helpful to hear how builders are using this in production.
hear you on the beta testing. we are basically building very detailed, complete prompts on our side from different sources of info and then sending that prompt over to gamma, so keeping it relatively simple - should keep us flexible to react quickly to api changes or new abilities
I am excited to see how the final product ends up as our API continues to evolve. You mentioned your partners being interested in Enterprise, have they filled out our interest form?
I dont think so - we have several large organizations (mortgage and realestate brokerages) that may be interested, but we are honestly sort of the ones introducing gamma to them. I think they expect we will let them know when it is available and make the connection.
Well when it feels appropriate from your end I would recommend they reach out. We have had a lot of interest so we just want to make sure they get the attention they need.
any idea when it may be available? been told later this fall maybe - definitely going to suggest they all get it and have designed our end so individuals can plug in their own api key and use our platform with their acct
The Business version or the other features you discussed?
we'd prefer everyone using our product has their own gamma account, but we are very aware of the issue in proptech that brokerages pay for tools that 80% of the agents don't use - if our overlay makes it ready to use - basically push button to get custom, relevant, variety of content and uses, it will make gamma enterprise accounts much more appealing. as easy as ai and gamma is, there is still a big learning curve for the masses especially to use it regularly - think we can help there. and for our program providers, putting their program details in understandable formats direct to agents and consumers helps spread awareness and education and solves their distribution issues. Agents will get the most modern tech, all the solutions for clients, and customized content without having to learn new terms, processes, or skills. we can make it out-of-the-box usable for the 80%, then the 20% can really unlock the potential by customizing and editing in their gamma accounts.
Max J. I second passing content to Gamma via API for better brand guidance. Our goal is to embed Gamma functionality into our application, which is meant for sales research & prospecting: generating presentations tend to be 1 step in the workflow, and it would be tremendous to partner with Gamma instead of Canva on this, because we think it's a better user experience to go natural language to presentation. Passing some brand guidelines via gamma API would enable this (and frankly a whole market of builders on top of Gamma). Thoughts on putting that into the roadmap?
These all sounds like great use cases to continue to leverage our platform, as I mentioned to Doug and others we will continue to build on our API sooner rather than later. However it would be irresponsible for me to provide exact specifics when things are fluid. CC: Deeni F. When you have a minute maybe you could weigh in here as well?
Yes, if we can use the API to set themes that would work—I don’t believe I can do that currently, right? Since the only way to set themes is via the graphical user interface.
You can't create a theme via the API but once you create the theme via the app, you can set the theme via the themeName parameter in the API
