Request for Native Image and Text Overlay Feature in Presentations

I'd love to have the ability to add images with text over them, like "cards." I think it would make presentations look much more dynamic. Perhaps this is possible and I'm doing it wrong. I know there are "workarounds" to get these effects, but native options would be great.
