Streamlining Image Integration in Gamma for Document Creation

When it comes to using images in documents, I am finding that I have to create the template in Gamma, individually download photos and then work on integrating them back into the document again. Which is cumbersome. Is there a way to get square images to use in documents? Converting a powerpoint to a document to keep alignment of look and feel results in very oddly sliced images. And, tall and skinny isn't what I am looking for. See attached or what I am getting. I am also attaching an example of when I have resized images. It feels like gamma has taken the deck work and the just changed the dimensions of the page but not adapted otherwise. Or, perhaps I am missing some aspect of Gamma that I am not using?
